My screen saver 3Dexcess used the multimedia timer, timeGetTime(), and it worked all right. The Performance Counter is probably more accurate, but who needs to be more precise than 1/1000 of a second anyway?

Now, if you look at my old R3 code, I used the C-library clock() function to do timing. This was a dumb mistake, but when I wrote it I didn't know any better. :-) I think it limited the frame rate to about 18 fps even though it can actually draw faster than that.
